Love Your Railway

25 July to 4 September 2022

Following the enormous success in 2021, the Love Your Railway campaign will return this summer, bigger and better!

Spearheaded by North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) and backed by the Heritage Railway Association, the nationwide campaign will raise awareness of the many heritage railways across the UK, and highlight the vital work they do with regards to conservation, education and research.

What will happen?

Each week of the Love Your Railway campaign is themed; participating railways post relative content on that theme during the week using the hashtag #LoveYourRailway as well as liking and sharing all the other railways’ images for collaboration.

Through the six weekly themes we will aim to inspire visitors and supporters to show why we do what we do. What is a heritage railway? Who saved the railway? How railways engage with their environment? Why do we restore these objects? And how railways have, or will, influence the future?

#LoveYourRailway Themes

  • #History - w/c 25 July
  • #Conservation - w/c 1 August
  • #Partnerships - w/c 8 August
  • #Family - w/c 15 August
  • #Volunteers - w/c 22 August
  • #Education - w/c 29 August

How to get involved with #LoveYourRailway

Last year, over 50 heritage railway organisations took part - we’d love to have even more for 2022 - so if you are a heritage railway or museum and want to get involved, simply contact Jon or Allyson at [email protected]

Following the latest Government guidance, 27 January, you no longer need to wear a face covering, but out of courtesy to others please consider wearing one on board our services in crowded, enclosed spaces where you may come into contact with people you do not normally meet.

Hand Sanitisers are available at various locations across the railway and we clean surfaces with antiviral cleaning products.
