If you are looking to host a unique and memorable occasion to entertain family, friends or work colleagues, why not charter our opulent Great Western Saloon carriage.

Ideal for both business and personal events – whether that’s corporate entertaining, networking events, team away days, birthdays, anniversaries or retirement parties, the Great Western Saloon carriage is available for hire until October.

Built in 1948, this carriage has two luxurious seating areas with fine furnishings and observation windows for you to admire the fantastic views that the North York Moors has to offer.

     

The Great Western Saloon carriage is available for hire on a Thursday, Saturday or Sunday lunchtime from April to October and can accommodate a maximum of 18 guests.

Your charter experience includes:

  • A return journey from Grosmont to Pickering on board the Great Western Saloon.
  • Signalman's Buffet Lunch for up to 18 guests, view the set menu.
  • A dedicated member of staff to look after your group and assist with catering.
  • Pre-ordered drinks from our drinks menu*.

The price to hire the Great Western Saloon with a set buffet for up to 18 people is £1,450.

Following the latest Government guidance, 27 January, you no longer need to wear a face covering, but out of courtesy to others please consider wearing one on board our services in crowded, enclosed spaces where you may come into contact with people you do not normally meet.


Hand Sanitisers are available at various locations across the railway and we clean surfaces with antiviral cleaning products.
