This year, we're marking 45 years of Pullman Dining services at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. In 1979, the budding NYMR acquired Pullman Cars Opal and Garnet and a considerable amount of time was then dedicated by a small group of people to locating missing parts and refurbishing these carriages for all to enjoy.

On the 16th of August 1979, the inaugural NYMR Pullman Dining Service commenced, featuring Opal and the Gresley Buffet as a kitchen. For the first two years, the busy services ran with Blue and Grey livery before the carriages were outshopped to the elegant full Brown and Cream Pullman livery once more (as shown in the image above).

Join us in celebrating this milestone! Enjoy a delightful welcome drink upon arrival (12.30 pm) before embarking on the same picturesque 18-mile journey along our cherished heritage line. Our Pullman 45th Anniversary menu features a delicious seasonal three-course lunch, cooked and served onboard our Pullman Dining Train followed by coffee and handmade chocolates. These return services are scheduled to be steam-hauled and will depart from Grosmont Station (YO22 5QE) and travel to Pickering Station and back. Total visit time is approx. 2hr 35m.

Table service alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are served on-board our Pullman Dining Train, cash or card payments are accepted. Children (Aged 5-14 years old) receive unlimited soft drink refills during the journey. We regret that we cannot safely accommodate children under 5 years old on Pullman Dining services.
