Did you know that we are now a validated learning destination for the Children’s University, and you can claim 2 learning hours each time you visit?

Children’s University, a charity that works in partnership with schools to develop a love of learning in children, believes in limitless learning beyond the classroom. They do so by encouraging and celebrating participation in extra-curricular activities in and outside of school.

Learning can be fun, aspirational, and lifelong! Explore our heritage railway and living museum, where our heritage steam and diesel locomotives will take you on a journey. You can stop off at any of our themed stations, from Goathland Station which featured as Hogsmeade in the first Harry Potter film, to Grosmont Station where our locomotives are maintained and restored. There’s something for everyone! You can meet our team of volunteers who tell our stories and bring the railway to life.

Don’t forget to visit our station shops and show your passport to learning to claim your 2 learning hours when you visit us here at the NYMR.

Make sure you look out for special events and activities taking place throughout our operating season.

Explore the whole of our heritage railway with an Annual Pass Ticket for £49.50 - pay for one day and benefit from FREE TRAVEL for 12 Months from the date of your first visit, plus KIDS GO FREE!
