Yorkshire's Magnificent Journey

Yorkshire’s Magnificent Journey project will start this spring thanks to a £4.4m grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The £10m project has also received £1.75 million from the Rural Payments Agency (RPA), as well as contributions from local organisations and private donors. With a combination of donations and grants, the railway has raised 90% of the funds to deliver the project. However, we still need to raise an additional £1 million by 2022 to be able to complete the project.

Delivering a £9.2million project is no mean feat, and will require one of the greatest team efforts ever witnessed on the NYMR. Perhaps the most important member of that team is you, our loyal supporters, as without your financial support Yorkshire’s Magnificent Journey will remain a dream.

With so many facets to the project, we have assembled a team who will turn this grand plan of ours into a reality. Each element of the project has a dedicated work group and/or leader, whose job it will be to deliver what we promise and help guarantee the long-term sustainability of the railway.
