Getting around inside

• We have contrast markings on all glass doors and high colour contrast between walls and doorframes.

• From the main entrance to the desk, there is level access. There is a permanent ramp. The route is 1500mm wide, or more.
• The door is 1500mm wide, or more.
• There are double manual doors that lead into the ticket office. There is plenty of circulation space for scooters and wheelchair users over 1500mm/1500mm

The counter is 990mm high and there is no lowered section.

Staff are extremely helpful.

If anyone with mobility difficulties needs a chair until the train arrives, inside the ticket office, then please ask a member of staff.

There are no public toilets within the building but public toilets are available across the road a short distance away.

Nearby is the main Whitby Tourist Information Office also on Langborne Road, a town council parking and a large public toilet building.

If passengers need assistance on to the train the staff will guide you to a location on the platform dedicated to passenger assistance.

This station is an unmanned station out of office hours.
