A 12 ton Shoc Wagon - built in 1956 by BR Faverdale. Shoc vans were for goods like biscuits that might be damaged by jolts during shunting or running. Instead of having the van body rigidly attached to the chassis, it was able to slide backwards and forwards a little against springs and shock absorbers.
