No. 47077 "North Star"

Built in 1965 at Crewe Works as D1661, "North Star" was initially based at Swansea and was the last locomotive to haul a scheduled cross-country express train in 2002. The celebrity Class 47 loco was withdrawn at Old Oak Common and preserved by the Diesel and Electric Preservation Group in 2007 at the West Somerset Railway. No. 47077 arrived on long-term loan at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) in 2021 and has been a reliable member of the fleet since.
