Station Stories App

Visiting the NYMR this year? Download our free Station Stories app to discover Pickering, Goathland and Grosmont Stations. Make the most of your visit using the Hotspot and Audio Tours to find out about the stories behind the buildings around the stations.

At Goathland discover the people who have and still work here in the ‘Who works here?’ feature. Along with three family-friendly games to play:

• Platform Positions - match the buildings to complete our station plan.
• Who Lives Here? - discover the animals who call Goathland Station their home.
• Cargo Conundrum - can you collect the right cargo for the customers?

At Grosmont discover the fascinating industrial history where ironstone from the local mines was transported by rail to Whitby. You'll also find three new games to play:

• Tunnel Vision - complete the tunnel wall jigsaw before the timer runs out.
• Picture Perfect - select a colour and fill-in the Grosmont scene.
• Mealtime Medley - drag the correct food to the Otter pup and Barn Owl chick.

At Pickering

• Feed the engine - tap the coal to keep the engine running.
• Rub to reveal - rub the picture to reveal what lies beneath.

Special thanks go to York Area Group for funding this extension of the Station Stories app and to all those who supported with the research and development.

Free to download from the App Store and Google Play before your visit or at the station by connecting to our free Station WiFi.
