View our online Collection
We have started to make our Museum Collection records available on line so that you can explore elements of the Collection which are not routinely on display across the railway. The number of records available to view will continue to grow over time. As we continue to audit, check and review records, we will be able to add more items to view. The audit is a vital step to ensure accuracy of the data and, where possible, we are including an image of the item or of a sample of the items in that particular record.
There are some items listed where an image is not available on line and for these you will need to contact us directly to ask if it is available ([email protected]). Some of the records, such as drawings, may have a small charge for viewing in person or for copies.
At the moment, the online access covers records of books, photographic images, dvds/videos, lamps, artwork, signs, some of the small artefacts and some drawings. Please note that the records relating to dvds or videos include only images of the covers: to access the full content, please subscribe to the NYMR’s YouTube Channel.
Parts of the Collection are also being explored in more detail in Tracks and Tales.
If you are interested in a particular item/subject which you cannot find here, please contact us via email on [email protected] and we will endeavour to help.
