New Event: A Bloody Merry Christmas

We have added an all-new service to our line-up this festive season, A Bloody Merry Christmas, hosted by Mad Alice of the Bloody Tour of York.

On 5th and 19th December, visitors are invited for a yuletide journey like no other. The hour-long heritage steam train journey will travel from Pickering to Levisham and back, transporting guests into a wonderfully wicked world with chilling ghost stories, sinister seasonal legends and tales of the macabre.

Mad Alice peers over her shoulder, shes brandishing a bloody axe.

With departures at 17:00 and 18:30, darkness falls and Mad Alice creates an atmosphere of Gothic Christmas meeting Victorian ghost story. On board, a wickedly playful Father Christmas grants wishes that visitors may come to regret asking for and the twisted Bloody Sugar Plum Fairy will be making an unwelcome appearance. Be sure to watch the shadows as Krampus, the horned Christmas nightmare, is keeping a watchful eye on those who have made the naughty list.

For those looking for spookily festive fun, A Bloody Merry Christmas brings hilariously horrifying moments and dark festive storytelling to life, creating an experience filled with wicked laughter, festive frights, hilariously horrifying experiences sure to send chills down spines.

Laura Strangeway, CEO of North Yorkshire Moors Railway said: “We can’t wait to welcome Mad Alice back for a wicked twist on the traditional Christmas experience this year with the Bloody Merry Christmas Express. We wanted to offer something that feels completely different to the traditional Christmas celebrations and excite visitors. From the moment guests step on board they can expect plenty of laughs and festive frights, all set against the atmospheric backdrop of the North York Moors.”

Tickets are £35 each for visitors over 16 years of age, and due to the limited services, booking in advance is recommended.
