The Green Knight - Share Your Story

We’d love to hear your stories about The Green Knight – are you a former driver or fireman or did you witness the spectacle of The Green Knight carrying the Olympic Torch? Do you have memories of family holidays in the North York Moors with The Green Knight steaming by?

Please email your stories, photos, video to [email protected] or tag us on social media #RestoreTheGreenKnight. We might even plan a special event for you to get together with other fans of The Green Knight...

Here are a couple of memories from our NYMR team to start the reminiscences:

"When we went down and did the Olympic Torch run from Whitby and took it through to Pickering, I was on the footplate firing the engine. That was a really nice moment being part of something significant." Paul Middleton, Director of Mechanical Engineering, NYMR.

"My mum got a fridge magnet of The Green Knight. Having it sat on my fridge since way back when, I never thought I'd be able to work on The Green Knight but I have done." Charlie Bauckham, Apprentice Fitter, NYMR.
