Station Warden

Hours of Work 15 - 18 over 3 or 4 evenings. 5pm - 8pm

Salary: £12.00 per hour

Contract: Seasonal to 3rd November 2024

You Will

  • Be a visible presence at the station for the last trains and passengers.
  • Maintain cleanliness of our office buildings
  • Keep station areas clean and secure the station site following the departure of the last train.
  • Be a Keyholder
  • Assist with onward travel arrangements in the event of a major delay or operational incident
  • Awareness of station Safety Procedures.
  • Form appropriate relationships at work and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Comply with your individual responsibilities under Health and Safety and other relevant NYMR Policies.
  • Take action and raise concerns in the appropriate way.
  • Drive company vehicles if licensed to do so.
  • Co-operate with management to carry out other tasks, duties and activities that are relevant to your skills and job level.

Person Specification

Essential (Experience, qualifications, skills, knowledge & personal qualities)

  • Previous experience of dealing with the public in a face to face role
  • Excellent communicator
  • Ability to work alone and are self-motivated

Desirable (Experience, qualifications, skills, knowledge & personal qualities)

  • Good knowledge of North Yorkshire Moors Railway and surrounding area
  • UK Driving license and own transport
  • Experience of working in the heritage sector
  • First aid at work qualification
