We are looking for volunteers to join the team at Whitby station – ensuring passengers have an enjoyable experience, providing information, managing station safety and ensuring safe train dispatch.

This is both a challenging and interesting role and would suit enthusiastic individuals with a broad interest in, and knowledge of, the modern rail network, along with an interest in the NYMR’s heritage train services. In order to maintain and expand that knowledge, regular and frequent availability as a volunteer and a flexible approach would be essential, as would good communication skills. An essential requirement is undergoing continuous competence assessment as the work involves safety critical tasks. As well as seeking volunteers new to the NYMR, we believe this would provide existing volunteers with the opportunity to develop their expertise and experience. Full training would be given.
