North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) will host its Annual Steam Gala from Friday 27th September to Sunday 29th September, with a combination of guest locomotives and home fleet engines in steam over the weekend.

6990 Witherslack Hall will be visiting the railway from Great Central Railway6990 Witherslack Hall was built in 1948 in Swindon. It was primarily located at Old Oak Common depot until it was withdrawn in January 1966. It arrived at the Great Central Railway in 1975 and has been a resident ever since, and has been a popular and regular sight on the heritage railway.

NELPG K1 Locomotive 62005 will arrive back at the railway this September making a guest appearance. 62005 was designed by the London and North Eastern Railway, built by the North British Locomotive Company in their Queen’s Park Works, Glasgow as NBL no 26609 and delivered to the fledgling British Railways in June 1949.

During the weekend stations along the line will be hosting exciting events of their own such as the Annual Steam Gala Beer Festival which sees Levisham and Goathland offering a wide selection of real ales from local breweries such as Brass Castle, Helmsley Brewing Co, Baytown and many more. 

Members Fares (Standard Membership & Life Members): Travel along the heritage line (Pickering to Grosmont returns) Adult/Concession £13.50, Child £6.70. Multi-Day Tickets (1 day, 2 day and 3 day ticket options available). 

Members will need to produce their valid membership card when collecting their tickets from the Booking Office.

The appearance of all locomotives is subject to completion of any required maintenance/overhaul. NYMR reserves the right to alter, cancel or suspend services, allocations and advertised attractions/locomotives.
