Permanent Paid Vacancy - Pullman Steward

Salary £7776.00 per year (minimum) to work 18 hours per week for 30 weeks of the year.

The Pullman operates 4 lunchtimes per week (Thursday to Sunday), you will work 3-4 shifts per week. Start time 9.30am to 4pm

You will: As a steward....

  • Serve customers on the Pullman Dining Train in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Assist with the preparation and service of food and beverages.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all areas of the Pullman Dining Train.
  • Work as part of a team of up to 14 on each of the services operated.
  • Ensure all safety and hygiene regulations are followed and maintained.

Hours of Work:

Contracted to work 18 hours per week for 30 weeks of the year, mainly worked during the main operating season. Any additional hours are paid at the rate of the Real Living Wage £12.00 per hour if aged over 18.

Person Specification;

Essential

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience in a customer facing role.
  • Experience in a commercial dining / catering / kitchen operation / environment.
  • Current Food Hygiene Certificate level 2 or above
  • Due to the busy nature of the Pullman Service the candidate must be able to work under pressure in this physically demanding role.
  • Flexible approach to work & hours - weekends and Bank Holidays are standard working days.
  • UK Driving license and own transport (will be used in the shortlisting Process) due to location.

Desirable

  • Experience in a professional catering/kitchen operation.
  • Recognized practical catering qualification.
  • A sound knowledge of food preparation and service.
