We are looking for a fixed-term part-time Shop Assistant within the Retail Department to cover turns at Grosmont & Goathland Station Shops throughout the busy running season.

Shop Assistant

  • To assist the Supervisor in order to maximise sales and profit while maintaining high standards of customer care
  • Duties include opening and closing the shop, serving customers, till sales, keeping a clean and well-presented shop environment, handling deliveries and cashing up

This position requires:

  • A pleasant, friendly and helpful manner, ability to maintain a polite, efficient and accommodating service within a busy environment
  • Relevant experience in a customer focused environment
  • Ability to work on your own
  • A knowledge of the Railway and surrounding area
  • Weekend and Bank Holiday working
  • Own transport

Rate of pay: National Living Wage
Hours: Part-time rota basis, to include any of seven days including bank holidays, plus holiday cover. Usually approx. 8 days per month. Fixed-term (seasonal).
