Railway Conservation. Run by Volunteers. Not for Profit.
Education is at the forefront of our aims and aspirations therefore, we have redefined our education offer for 2023, placing learning, interpretation and community engagement at the heart of everything we do.
For 2023 we now have a fresh, new, and exciting programme of activities across the railway for schools, home school learning providers, young peoples’ groups and families to engage with. New for 2023: We are marking our 50th Anniversary (1973-2023) and to celebrate Pupils/Children up to the age of 16 travel free and Teachers/Adults travel for £15, 1:10 child ratio! There is no cost for workshops and activities, you just need to book; please complete our Booking Form and we will be in touch shortly.
Our learning opportunities are immersive and interactive and have been developed in collaboration with schools and other groups (Brownies, Scouts, Guides etc), to ensure our offer is both relevant and accessible.
Our new Goathland Education Coach and workshops are part of the Yorkshire’s Magnificent Journey project, funded by Heritage Lottery Fund to develop our learning programme with local organisations and communities as part of the our charitable aims.
