Take a trip on our Yorkshire Express or Seaside Special services and see the full line. Or take a shorter journey on a Moors Explorer service.
Experience the whole length of our line with a return excursion from Pickering Station to the seaside Fish & Chip capital of the North, Whitby. Head over the captivating 113-year-old swing bridge and along the cobbled streets to reach the breathtaking 199 steps leading up to the world-famous 7th-century, Whitby Abbey. Or relax on the golden sands of the Blue Flag awarded Whitby Beach.
Perfect for those looking for a shorter journey or who wish to visit the quaint little villages along our 18 mile heritage line. Levisham & Newtondale make for an ideal start to a countryside adventure walk; visit Goathland Station, which featured in the first of the Harry Potter films as Hogsmeade Station or see the work underway on our locomotives at Grosmont Engine Sheds.
From Monday to Saturday, why not experience the whole length of our line and escape the hustle and bustle of the seaside with a return journey to the historic market town of Pickering. Our Young Engineers Centre, Pickering Castle, Beck Isle Museum, local eateries, cafes, pubs, and bars are all within a few minutes' walk from the station platforms at Pickering. Don't forget to pick up a souvenir from our Station Shop.
Shorter return journeys and single tickets can be purchased from the Booking Office on the day of travel (or a few days before), subject to availability.
Occasionally, due to operational requirements, we may substitute a steam engine with a diesel locomotive. Prior to your visit, please ensure that you are able to fulfil your journey within our timetable.
