The Moorlander Lunch Services depart at 12:30pm from Grosmont Station on running dates between Monday and Saturday and depart at 13.30pm on a Sunday, travelling on a return journey through the picturesque North York Moors.

Starter

  • Homemade cream of parsnip soup with a hint of curry, topped with freshly chopped coriander
  • Traditional prawn cocktail, served in a glass, on a bed of chopped lettuce, topped with Marie Rose sauce, cucumber, tomato, lemon and cress
  • Fresh seasonal melon served with strawberries, blueberries and pineapple served with a honey crème laced with raspberry liqueur
  • Ham and egg flan served with a mixed leaf salad, vine tomatoes and grainy mustard mayonnaise   

Warm bread rolls will accompany your choice of starter

Main Course

  • Roast topside of beef served with Yorkshire pudding, onion gravy and horseradish sauce
  • Roast loin of pork and crackling, served with apple sauce, sage seasoning and pan gravy with onions  
  • Homemade fisherman’s pie topped with creamy mashed potato (salmon, haddock, cod and prawns bound in a white wine, parsley and cream sauce)
  • Ploughman’s platter salad: Roast English ham, Applewood smoked cheese, pork pie and pickled onions served with a seasonal salad, piccalilli and harvest bread
  • Sweet potato, Yorkshire fettle and caramelised onion tart served with a side salad and mayonnaise

Seasonal fresh vegetables and potatoes will accompany your choice of Main Course

Dessert

  • Hot vanilla sponge served with homemade toffee sauce and custard 
  • Chocolate cheesecake served with mint liqueur and dark chocolate sauce, caramelised orange slices and whipped cream
  • Fresh strawberry and raspberry meringue served with whipped cream, topped with shortbread crumble
  • A selection of Yorkshire cheeses served with biscuits, celery and fruit chutney

Freshly brewed Yorkshire tea or coffee served with chocolate mints and truffles

Please note: 

  • Menu choices are required at least 4 weeks in advance of your date of travel (if not already selected when booking) as all meals are prepared on board the train on the day. Selections are not required for the Pullman Tea or Festive Afternoon Tea services. 
  • For exclusivity you can purchase additional seats at the full adult fare. 
  • Due to health and safety we do not allow children ages 0 - 4 years to travel on the Pullman Dining services. 
  • As the Pullman Dining train set consists of heritage carriages, it is not possible to use a wheelchair inside the train, and thus all customers must be able to walk to their seats. For further information email [email protected]
  • If you wish to travel on a standard service to connect with a Pullman Dining Service, a valid separate ticket will be required which can be purchased from the Booking Office.
