Adhering to Government advice regarding social distancing and the layout of our historic carriages we have made the difficult decision to cancel the below services. The Customer Service team will be in touch shortly if you have a pre-booked ticket.

The options you have regarding your booking are:

Rebook 2021: Please indicate a date you have in mind and you will be contacted by Customer Services when the timetable is finalised for 2021, which is normally at the end of the year. 

Gift Card: This will be valid for two years from the date of issue to use on any of our services.

Refund: If you booked via the internet the payment will be refunded to your card accordingly otherwise one of our team will contact you.

Join us on board our heritage carriages for our Fish & Chip Lunch service departing from Whitby at 12:45. Enjoy Whitby Fish & Chips with Yorkshire Tea or Coffee whilst travelling through the North York Moors National Park, hauled by a steam locomotive.  

Fish and chips have been part of our nation’s culinary heritage for more than 150 years and Quayside believes proper Yorkshire fish and chips deserve a place on the gourmet map of Britain. Our fish are deep fried the traditional Yorkshire way, in top quality beef dripping, coated in Quayside’s own special recipe batter and served with lemon and chipped potatoes. 

  • Whitby Fish & Chips from Quayside
  • Bread & Butter. 
  • Yorkshire Tea or Coffee.
  • Return Journey to Pickering from Whitby.

The pre-booked Fish & Chip Lunch tickets cost £54.95 per adult/child (aged 14 years plus). Limited Availability. Additional refreshments  available on board.

Please note:

  • As the Speciality Service Carriages consists of heritage carriages, it is not possible to use a wheelchair inside the train, and thus all customers must be able to walk to their seats. 
  • Tickets for just one adult/child are not available online and can only be booked via Customer Service on 01751 472508. 
  • The law prohibits the sale of alcohol to a minor (anyone under the age of 18 years).
  • If you wish to travel on a standard service to connect with a Speciality Service, a valid separate ticket will be required which can be purchased from the Booking Office.
