Families ho-ho-hoping for a memorable Christmas should look no further than the North Yorkshire Moors Railway’s annual Santa Special Services, which take place on selected dates from Saturday 2nd December, and tickets are now on sale!

Departing from both Pickering and Grosmont stations, this much loved event brings to life the magic of Christmas and gives children the chance to meet Santa in his festive grotto. On board the train youngsters will be able to tell him what presents they would like this year, if they have behaved of course as Santa will be regularly checking his naughty list!

Of course, with it being the time for giving, children will receive some treats from the railway, including a Christmas Activity Bag (Crayons, Activity Sheet, Selfie Frame and Selfie Props) and a gift from Santa, with adults enjoying a delicious mince pie, a hot drink and an alcoholic tipple.

Chris Price, General Manager at North Yorkshire Moors Railway, said: “Our Santa Specials are always a great way to end the year and we love seeing so many smiley faces at the railway. Each year just seems to get better and better and we look forward to welcoming families for lots of festive fun!”

Passengers experiencing the magical adventure aboard the Santa Express, departing from Pickering, will also have the chance to take selfies with Santa’s ‘real life’ reindeers. The best #reindeerselfie will win a family ticket (2 adults & 2 children) for our 2018 season and a goody bag with Thomas the Tank Engine goodies worth £100.*
