Heartbeat was filmed in and around the North York Moors, and in Whitby. The village of Goathland is also known as ITVs Aidensfield, and Goathland Station and several sections of the railway line feature in many episodes.

Goathland Station was used as Hogsmeade Station in the first Harry Potter film.

Pickering Station, featured in the latest "Dad's Army" film (2016), starring Bill Nighy and Catherine Zeta-Jones
