News & Events Events Northern Lights Express Northern Lights Express will operate: 30 November & 1, 7, 8, 12*, 13*, 14, 15, 19*, 20*, 21, 22 & 23* December, departing at 7pm. *Two evening services will operate on highlighted dates departing at 5pm and 7pm. Join us this winter for a trip on our new, Northern Lights Express! This truly spectacular illuminated journey starts at Pickering Station, where our train with heritage carriages awaits you – decorated with thousands of lights. You will travel through a twinkling forest which is transformed by a multitude of lights and surprises. You will then arrive at Levisham Station, where a dazzling light show will begin. Experience a light extravaganza and snow, like you’ve never seen before! See the Northern Lights Express illuminated at Pickering Station. There will be a pre-show on Platform 1 for the lighting of the Train. Northern Lights Express is a pre-book service with seat allocation. Please note that there is no Santa on Northern Lights Express services. The Northern Lights Express service includes flashing lights which may not be suitable for those with Photosensitive Epilepsy. Adult (16 years +) and Children (1 – 15 years old). Under 12 months can travel on the service free of charge. A seat will not be provided. Wheelchair users can travel onboard the Northern Lights Express. Spaces are limited. To book, please contact Customer Services on 01751 472508. Concessions for Carers and Disabled People. Our policy admits the necessary companion, or carer, of a disabled visitor free of charge, while the Northern Lights Express ticket cost applies to the disabled visitor – both adults and Children. We request customers who have purchased a free Carers ticket online to please produce of one of the following forms of ID at the Booking Office when collecting tickets: Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Document, Disability Living Allowance Record Book, Attendance Allowance Book, Invalidity Benefit Book, Visual Impairment Registration Card (BD8), Blue/Orange Parking Permit or written confirmation of the above from the DWP with photographic identification. Pickering Tea Room and Gift Shop will be open until the last Northern Lights Express departure. Trolley Services will operate on the services.
