Join us this February Half Term and take a journey along the 18-mile heritage line, explore one of the world's greatest heritage railway experiences with thrills and family fun at its heart.

  • Head to Peter's Railway Young Engineers' Centre at Pickering Station, an interactive exhibition for children to learn about engineering and science through storytelling.
  • Let off Steam at Levisham and explore the North York Moors National Park.
  • A must see is the celebrity station of Goathland which became Hogsmeade Station in the first Harry Potter Film.
  • Visit the home of the Operating and Engineering world of the railway at Grosmont Station, visit our engine sheds to see where our steam and diesel locomotives are maintained and restored.

Station Tea Rooms will be open for breakfasts, hot drinks, snacks and treats at Pickering (10am to 3pm), Goathland (10am to 4pm) and Grosmont (9.30am to 3.30pm) each day while trains are running. The Weighbridge Tea Hut at Levisham Station will also be open on 10, 11, 17 & 18 February.

Gift Shops will be open for souvenirs and memorabilia at Pickering (10am to 3pm), Grosmont (10am to 4.30pm) and Goathland (10am to 3pm). Can't get to a station? Visit

Please inform the Guard if you wish to alight at Newton Dale Halt as this is a request stop; give a clear hand-signal to the Driver if you wish to board.
DMU - This service is scheduled to be hauled by a scenic diesel railcar.
P - On certain dates as advertised Pullman Dining Service with limited ordinary seating accommodation; normal train on other dates.
