Adhering to Government advice regarding social distancing and the layout of our historic carriages we have made the difficult decision to cancel the below services. The Customer Service team will be in touch shortly if you have a pre-booked ticket.

The options you have regarding your booking are:

Rebook 2021: Please indicate a date you have in mind and you will be contacted by Customer Services when the timetable is finalised for 2021, which is normally at the end of the year. 

Gift Card: This will be valid for two years from the date of issue to use on any of our services.

Refund: If you booked via the internet the payment will be refunded to your card accordingly otherwise one of our team will contact you.

The Moorlander Lunch Services depart at 12:30pm from Grosmont Station on running dates between Monday and Saturday and depart at 13:30pm on a Sunday*, travelling on a return journey through the picturesque North York Moors.  

**2020 Diesel Gala: 5 June will be hauled by a diesel engine. 

Starter

  • Homemade Creamy Tomato and Basil Soup. (V) (GF) (D) 
  • Chicken Tikka breast served on a bed of iceberg lettuce and red onion, accompanied with a cool mint yogurt. (GF)
  • Fresh Fruit Cocktail (strawberries, raspberries, melon balls and blueberries), topped with an orange twist. (V) (GF) (DF) (D)
  • Cold Smoked Mackerel served with a horseradish potato salad on a bed of lambs lettuce. (GF) (D) (DF ex. potato salad)

Warm bread rolls will accompany your choice of starter.

Main Course

  • Roast Topside of Beef served with a Yorkshire Pudding, onion gravy, watercress and horseradish sauce. (D) 
  • Roast Chicken Breast served with pigs in blankets (sausage & bacon), sage and onion seasoning and watercress. (D) 
  • Poached Salmon Salad dressed in lemon mayonnaise. (D) (GF)
  • Vegetable Shepherd’s Pie topped with sweet potato mash, cheese and chopped chives. (V) (GF) (D) 

Seasonal fresh vegetables and potatoes will accompany your choice of Main Course.

Dessert

  • Apple and Raspberry Crumble served with hot custard sauce.
  • Vanilla Cheesecake served with mango coulis, topped with fresh cream and strawberries. 
  • Brownie and Salted Caramel Trifle layers of brownie, baileys cream, chocolate custard and malt balls. 
  • A Selection of Yorkshire Cheeses served with biscuits, celery and fruit chutney.

Freshly brewed Yorkshire tea or coffee served with chocolates. 

Moorlander Lunch costs Adult/Child £68.00 per person. Children (5-14 years old) receive unlimited soft drinks. Services running from April - November 2019, lasting 2hrs 45mins. View Terms & Conditions

Please note: 

  • Menu choices are required at least 4 weeks in advance of your date of travel (if not already selected when booking) as all meals are prepared on board the train on the day. Selections are not required for the Pullman Tea or Festive Afternoon Tea services. 
  • (V) = Vegetarian, (GF) = Gluten Free, (DF) = Dairy Free (D) = Diabetic. If you require a Dairy Free (DF) menu please contact Customer Services. Chocolate Tiffin and Millionaires Shortbread can be provided as alternative desserts upon request, these are Dairy and Gluten Free. 
  • For exclusivity you can purchase additional seats at the full adult fare. 
  • Tickets for just one adult/child are not available online and can only be booked via Customer Services on 01751 472508. 
  • Due to health and safety we do not allow children ages 0 - 4 years to travel on the Pullman Dining services. 
  • As the Pullman Dining train set consists of heritage carriages, it is not possible to use a wheelchair inside the train. All customers must be able to walk to their seats. Carer Discounts are not available on Dining Services. For further information email [email protected]
