The options you have regarding your booking are:

Rebook 2021: Please indicate a date you have in mind and you will be contacted by Customer Services when the timetable is finalised for 2021, which is normally at the end of the year. 

Gift Card: This will be valid for two years from the date of issue to use on any of our services.

Refund: If you booked via the internet the payment will be refunded to your card accordingly otherwise one of our team will contact you.

Our Christmas Moorlander Lunch departs from Grosmont on all dates before Christmas Day and from Pickering after Christmas Day, travelling through the magical and scenic North York Moors National Park. 


  • Creamy Red Pepper and Tomato soup topped with chopped chives. (GF) (V)
  • Fan of Honeydew Melon served with kiwi and strawberries. (GF) (V) (DF) (D)
  • Oak Smoked Salmon served on a bed of lambs lettuce and mayonnaise accompanied with bread and butter. (D)
  • Chicken Liver Pate served with Cumberland sauce and orange wedge.

Warm bread rolls will accompany your choice of starter.

Main Course

  • Roast Turkey Breast served with festive pigs in blankets (sausage & bacon), sage and onion seasoning, cranberry sauce, topped with watercress. (D)
  • Sirloin of beef served with Chasseur sauce made with red wine, shallot, mushroom and tomato. (GF) (D)
  • Truffle and Parsnip Brioche Pudding served with hazelnut and thyme butter. (V)
  • Cod Loin served on a bed of ratatouille sauce topped with pea shoots and lemon crown. (GF) (DF) (D)

All the above main courses are served with a variety of seasonal fresh vegetables and potatoes.

Dessert or Cheese

  • Traditional Christmas Pudding served with a creamy hot rum sauce.
  • Black Forest Gateau.
  • Gingerbread Cheesecake topped with caramel sauce, crystallised ginger and whipped cream.
  • Yorkshire Cheese Platter serving three popular Yorkshire cheeses accompanied with biscuits, celery, walnuts, grapes and spiced fruit chutney.

Freshly brewed Yorkshire Tea or Coffee with a mince pie, chocolates and a tangerine.

Christmas Moorlander Lunch costs Adult/Child £73.00 per person. Children (5-14 years old) receive unlimited soft drinks. Departure is from Grosmont or Pickering (Grosmont on all dates before Christmas Day and Pickering after Christmas Day) at 12:00, lasting 2hrs 45mins. View Terms & Conditions

Please note: 

  • Menu choices are required at least 4 weeks in advance of your date of travel (if not already selected when booking) as all meals are prepared on board the train on the day. Selections are not required for the Pullman Tea or Festive Afternoon Tea services. 
  • (V) = Vegetarian, (GF) = Gluten Free, (DF) = Dairy Free & (D) = Diabetic. Chocolate Tiffin and Millionaires Shortbread can be provided as alternative desserts upon request, these are Dairy and Gluten Free. 
  • For exclusivity you can purchase additional seats at the full adult fare. 
  • Tickets for just one adult/child are not available online and can only be booked via Customer Services on 01751 472508. 
  • Due to health and safety we do not allow children ages 0 - 4 years to travel on the Pullman Dining services. 
  • As the Pullman Dining train set consists of heritage carriages, it is not possible to use a wheelchair inside the train, and thus all customers must be able to walk to their seats. For further information email [email protected]
  • If you wish to travel on a standard service to connect with a Pullman Dining Service, a valid separate ticket will be required which can be purchased from the Booking Office.
