Volunteer Day 2009

Thank you for your enquiry about finding about the opportunities to help the North Yorkshire Moors Railway by becoming a volunteer. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to participate, to spend as much or as little time as you feel able helping us to run the best heritage railway in the world. Please come and spend a day with us and see for yourself.

The day will start at 10 o’clock in the Learning Centre Platform 2 at Pickering, and you will have an opportunity to meet many of the people who already participate in the railway. You can talk first hand with them and many other people in the wide variety of departments and supporting groups that makes up the railway, and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

We will be providing welcoming refreshments when you first arrive, and you will be asked to register, and confirm your interests. On receipt of this form you will be given a travel voucher that will also entitle you to unlimited train travel, and working volunteer discount in the tea rooms for the day.

If you are uncertain about which department you want to work in, or change your mind after talking to the people present, do not worry, give them your name and address, and better still make arrangements to come back for a day to join in.

When you have seen enough you may return to Pickering by any train.
