Grand Bridge re-opening Weekend

27-28th March 2010

Introduction

A celebratory weekend to mark the completion of Bridge 30, between Goathland and Grosmont.  Our full service will be resumed between Pickering and Whitby.  Be one of the first to travel over the new bridge!  In addition to our RED timetable, we will be running the first train over the bridge at 9am from Grosmont.

Trip over the bridge in our Great Western Saloon

We have shuttle services on the 27th and 28th March that travel from Goathland to Bridge 30 and back in the Great Western Saloon. Nigel Trotter, our Civil Engineer will be on board to give you more information about the bridge and how it was constructed.  There will also be light refreshments available on your journey.

Tickets

Tickets can be purchased at our booking offices on the day.

The first train over the Bridge from Grosmont is at 9am  and costs £5 supplement.  You must purchase a travel ticket in conjunction with this ticket before travel.

Tickets cost £10 for the saloon trip plus the cost of a standard ticket fare.

Train times from Goathland on both days:

• 10:05 – £10 per person – purchase at the booking office.
• 11:05 – £10 per person – purchase at the booking office.
• 12:05 – £10 per person – purchase at the booking office.
• 13:05 – £10 per person – purchase at the booking office.

Timetable

Our standard Red timetable will be running throughout the weekend.  We are also running an extra train on Saturday at 9am from Grosmont which will be the first train over the Bridge.  To travel on this train, there will be a £5 supplement.
